Dear Clubmembers,
As the club continues to grow in both membership (40% in two years!) and programs, it is important for the Tarkill Board of Directors to ensure that this growth is sustained. The Board feels that one reason this growth has occurred is due to the fact that we have kept our membership fees very flat over the last three years. During this time the club has not increased the per player cost of registration or the family fee. However, as we continue to expand our programs it is important for the club to have a “fixed” revenue source to ensure that the club’s programs continue to serve the members at the level they are accustomed.
To maintain this fixed revenue without financially burdening the clubmembers we have relied on fundraising. Over the last two years we have used Joe Corbi’s as our primary club wide fundraiser. It has been successful, but inconsistent. To provide consistency for this revenue, the Board has decided to change our primary fundraising campaign. We looked to do this in a fair manner that would not burden clubmembers while providing a consistent revenue stream that would allow the club to sustain our growth.
This year, in lieu of Joe Corbi’s, we are asking the member families to sell “Tarkill Merchant Discount Cards”. Each family will be asked to sell three (3) cards and will be given the cards at registration (online registrants will have the cards mailed to them). Each card will sell for $10.00. This in effect, will add $30.00 to the upfront cost of registration. However, once you sell the cards, you will recoup this fee. The cards offer some great deals at local businesses, and all of the discounts are clearly listed on the cards themselves. Anyone using the cards can easily recoup their initial investment in the card.
The Board felt that this fundraiser would best help us achieve our goals without adding a permanent financial responsibility to clubmembers. The board also decided to attach the fundraiser to registration so that all member families would take part. The truth of the matter is that any organization is only as strong as its membership! As always, if you have any concerns or questions about the program, or have a financial burden that will not allow your family to participate in this program please feel free to reach out to us at
